Families Anonymous is a world-wide collaboration of family and friends who have been hurt due to somebody else's abuse of mind-altering substances or behavioural problems. Fam Anon has groups which meet regularly and spread throughout the country. You don't have to be a member to attend the meetings, it is encouraged that any worried person does.
Fam Anon was founded by a group of American families in 1971. 1980 marked the formation of the first group in London spearheading creation of 50+ groups with common goal in different parts of the country.
The Fellowship is a self improvement association which has program of 12 Steps and 12 Traditions initially detailed by Alcoholics Anonymous.
The goal of the group is to provide a place where experiences and worries can be discussed and to assist family and friends of individuals with a current, previous or suspected drug issue by offering mutual support. There are about 50 groups around the United Kingdom now, while 1st one was created in London in 1980.

FamAnon gets their work done in several different ways. Its core strength originates from sharing of general issues. Meetings and memberships are entirely free of charge. Volunteers run the office and contributions from meetings and sale of Fam Anon literature cover the day to day office management running costs.
Only first names are used in gatherings, as FamAnon is an anonymous programme.
